At FollowerDM, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our anonymous Q&A platform. Whether you are a Creator receiving messages or a Fan sending them, we are committed to safeguarding your data.
2. The "Anonymity" Guarantee
When a Fan sends a message to a Creator, the message content is delivered securely. We actively strip identifying information from the payload before the Creator ever sees it. The Creator will not see your name, location, or IP address.
However, we log technical metadata on our backend (such as IP addresses and browser fingerprints) strictly for security, rate-limiting, and abuse prevention. We will only disclose this metadata to law enforcement if required by a valid legal request due to severe threats or illegal activity.
3. Data We Collect
For Creators: To operate your account, we collect your email address, securely hashed password, username, bio, and social media links (if provided). We use this data solely to provide the FollowerDM service.
For Fans: You may optionally provide an email address when sending a message if you wish to receive a notification when the Creator replies. This email is strictly kept private on our servers and is never shared with the Creator. We also collect IP addresses temporarily to prevent spam and abuse.
4. AI Moderation & Message Processing
To ensure a safe environment, all incoming messages may be processed by automated AI filters to detect and block hate speech, bullying, and toxicity. These third-party AI services process the text temporarily to assign a safety score, but do not retain your messages to train their models.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
FollowerDM relies on trusted, industry-standard third-party providers to operate:
- Supabase: For secure database hosting and authentication.
- Vercel: For secure website hosting and serverless API execution.
Your data is encrypted in transit (via SSL/HTTPS) and at rest. We do not sell your personal data to marketers or ad agencies.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services.Your Rights: You may request the full deletion of your FollowerDM account and all associated data at any time. Simply contact our support team, or use the "Delete Account" option in your dashboard (if available), and your data will be permanently purged from our active databases.
